Ed van der Elsken: Hong Kong the Way it Was
The exhibition displays for the first time the entire photographic series by Ed van der Elsken, portraying the daily life of the old Hong Kong
11 Yuk Sau Street Happy Valley, Hong Kong
On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, the F11 Foto Museum hosts the monographic exhibition “HONG KONG the way it was”, gathering more than 130 pictures by the Dutch photographer Ed van der Elsken (1925 – 1990).
The artist documented the essence of the city, portraying urban landscapes, town views, and people scenes, during the three weeks spent there on the occasion of his world-round trip. Being the first time that the entire photographic series is on view altogether, it offers the audience an insight into the old and sometimes disappeared Hong Kong.
