A major retrospective celebrates the legacy of the Chinese artist

Asia Society Hong Kong, 9 Justice Dr, Admiralty, Hong Kong

Asia Society Hong Kong Center (ASHK) celebrates artist Xie Jing-lan’s – nicknamed Lalan – centennial, in the fourth installment of the 20th Century Chinese Female Artist Series. Over thirty masterpieces and archival materials dig in her trans-disciplinary research, highlighting the artist’s transformative moments and experimentation through body-focused art practices. She experimented across sound-composition, modern dance, and abstract painting.
Nowadays, Lalan’s legacy still lies in integrated art practices, combining painting, music, and dance.
