Freeman Lau & Design: Inter-dependent Decisions
Organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, “Freeman Lau & Design: Inter-dependent Decisions” showcases Lau’s representative works over the years, including cultural, commercial and public art space projects that connect meticulously with the social development of Hong Kong. His unique crossover works, such as his “Chairplay” series, are also on display, leading to the simple, yet worthy topic ‘What Decides Design?’ Throughout his career, he has created a lot of well known designs by repeatedly asking himself this question. Through this exhibition of his works, visitors could learn more about Lau’s creative career, as well as his contribution to promoting the designs, creative industry and culture of Hong Kong.
With his world vision, renowned Hong Kong designer Freeman Lau has received numerous awards for his remarkable art and design innovations. In addition to his individual creations, Lau has been endlessly promoting the development of design in Hong Kong and Greater China.
A documentary video will be shown in the exhibition with interviews with Freeman Lau and a number of his mentors, designers, artists, friends and work partners, who have provided him with endless support and interaction. Visitors will have the opportunity to view Lau and his design concepts from multiple perspectives.
