FUSE Artist Residency – Jason Hendrik Hansma: Opaline

FUSE Residency Program presents Jason Hendrik Hansma (Netherland)’s solo exhibition, “Opaline” (Lattimo). The title “opaline” refers to an Italian technique of glass making to imitate to porcelain. For over a hundred years, the glass could not be archived in China while porcelain not in Europe. However the two techniques interacted through making vessels.

Jason Hendrik Hansma chose to highlight the bridge between the languages of two media through moving images projection, addressing the historical context of glass in Europe and porcelain in China as a figurative of political forms of separations in his practices in the context of geopolitics between Europe and China
