Huang Po-Chih: 500 Lemon Trees – A Proposal for Museums: Factory

am space presents “A Proposal for Museums: Factory” by Taiwanese artist Huang Po-Chih, the 19th exhibition of the project “500 Lemon Trees” showcased for the first time in Hong Kong.  The artist converted the exhibition into a fund-raising platform, reinvigorating the abandoned farmland with 500 lemon trees planted to make limoncello with the fund raised over the past 2 years, and is moving on to develop the concept of a “factory”: an interlocking, reporting, symbiotic system emerged, moving from planting to research to writing to infusing the liqueur to blending it. Through subscribing the wine label in the exhibition, Huang shall fulfill practical aesthetics and the continuation of the development plan. Subscribers are encouraged to participate in completing the artwork by sticking the wine label onto the bottle of 56-degree limoncello received from the factory after 2 years.
