Inkchronicity

Inkchronicity is a curated exhibition of conceptual ink art by Li Hao (b. 1982, Beijing), C.N.Liew (b. 1975, Kuala Lumpur), Qi Yu (b. 1969, Xiamen) and Zhong Yueying (b. 1960, Heilongjiang).

Li Hao‘s work inspiring a new idea of “ink”; he breaks the rules of traditional ink printing and elevates it to the spiritual level. Li Hao uses his abstract language to paint freely and challenges the adventitious nature of ink.

C.N. Liew is a Malaysian Chinese painter and calligrapher based in Hong Kong and he is the first and only Malaysian artist to be featured at Art HK and at Fine Art Asia. Through his work he has taken the medium of calligraphy and created something thoroughly contemporary.

Qi Yu‘s artworks reverts from ceramic art form to the characteristics of the porcelain itself. They are not only different from the context of traditional ceramics, but also different from the present generalization language of mixed media works. His artworks are a reflection of the heritage of tradition, and on the other hand, are also an expectation of self-transcendence.

Zhong Yueying is a Chinese artist based in California; he has held numerous solo exhibitions in China and internationally. Zhong Yueying’s painting received the Special Overseas Grand Prize at the Asian International Ink and Brush Painting Exhibition in Tokyo.
