Jasper Knight: Jumbo Kingdom

The Cat Street Gallery is thrilled to welcome Jasper Knight back for his second solo show in Hong Kong, ‘Jumbo Kingdom’.

Jasper Knight is an acclaimed painter and a curator and promoter of Australian contemporary art. The Sydney based artist will exhibit a series of new bold paintings in a solo show inspired by Hong Kong.

Knight’s paintings often employ bright colours in blocks, but avoid flatness and simplicity in form due to the organic way in which the paint drips down the canvas. The works are also spatially innovative, playing with traditional perspective points. This particular technique draws on the relationship between high art and postcard photos but also between sculpture and painting.
