Kingsley Ng: Secret Garden
Hong Kong Visual Art Centre, 7A Kennedy Road, Central
This is a collaborative work by Kingsley Ng & the Hong Hong Visual Art Centre creative team. It consist of an immersive orchestration of scenographic installations, light and sound in the former Victoria Barracks, to be set in motion by a wandering audience.
For this project, the artist took inspiration from the secret garden discovered by three children within the Barracks in 1978.
An experiential urban sanctuary, Secret Garden explores the notion of healing like its intertextual references—the eponymous Victorian novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and the phenomenal colouring book by Johanna Basford. Following the footsteps of the three protagonists, the audience participate to an interactive journey.
Free guided tours are until April 2nd.
