Moe Kawasaki & Masakatsu Kuriya: The Path

Police Married Quarters – PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street, Hong Kong

Waka Artisans has invited Masakatsu Kuriya along with the very talented Moe Kawasaki to take part in a joint exhibition: “The Path” at the PMQ.

Kuriya is known for his incredibly well made teapots which are admired by all tea-lovers and ceramicists alike. Teapots are considered to be the very pinnacle of ceramic skill, requiring the artist to bring together a range of techniques and forms to bring together the piece in a balanced manner. Kuriya is also known to be a coffee fanatic and creates some wonderful coffee pieces for everyday use.

Kawasaki is relatively new to the Waka collection, she uses a variety of glazes to bring out the carefully stamped patterns that make her work incredibly distinctive. Each piece is absolutely unique and individual according to the way the glaze sits and reacts with the heat from the kiln.
