Régis Gonzalez: Close to Black

The show presents the latest, original ink works of French visual artist Régis Gonzalez, an associated project of the annual cultural festival Le French May 2017.

Gonzalez’s drawings of self-portraits are beyond the shape of the face and function of its various parts, portraying a sense of – hidden yet strongly anchored in one’s soul – madness and fear. His landscape works show the same burden, in which one will wonder what indeed are manifested beyond the natural forms, such as the tree, lake, shadow and sky. Gonzalez’s works allow one to glimpse what lies deep behind each drawing, with delight, humour and fright.
