Women + Ink | China + Hong Kong

A group exhibition of four emerging women ink artists, focusing on the theme of feminine sensitivity which leads a great attention in the contemporary Chinese art in recent years. Zhang Yirong from Beijing, Qiao Yuan from Shanghai, Hui Hoi-kiu and CC Ling Pui-sze from Hong Kon bring the traditional ink art into a new era. The artists Hui Hoi-kiu and Zhang Yirong follows the classical technique of Gongbi Hua using monochrome detailed fine lines to create flower paintings and dragon paper fans which reveal the beauty and sophisticated of Chinese culture. While Qiao Yuan and CC Ling Pui-sze emphasizes the ink layering skill on thin rice paper in such a way to add richness to the simplicity of landscape painting and installation. Airy atmosphere is a key point in their works. The two Hong Kong artists Hui Hoi-kiu and CC Ling will create new works for the show.
