Revital Rettig: Fade to Grey

Fade to Grey is the first solo exhibition by Revital Rettig (b. 1981, Kfar Azar) at Raw Art Gallery in Tel – Aviv.
Rettig will present works in drawing and drawing animation from the last years.
In one series Rettig creates remakes of her one year old daughter’s scribbles. Rettig takes her daughter’s free-handed, primal, non-judgmental doodles, which embody the joy of the unconscious creativity, whereas she re-writes them in a detailed, pedantic manner. All the other works exhibited are variations of this thought – they move between the desire in self-control, even compulsively, to the desire of letting go of any restraint, between right angles to loose, expressive lines, between traditional drawing to animation. The nature of her works drifts between comic-macabre commentary on reality to an objective, distant point of view.

Revital Rettig born 1981, lives and works in Tel Aviv. Graduated with a B.A in Art and Education from Hamidrasha, Beit Berl Art College, and drawing studies at the Artist Studio of Avinoam Kosowsky.
The artist has presented a solo exhibition at the Solo Project Art Fair in Basel (2012) with Raw Art Gallery and participated in different solo and group exhibitions in Israel and around the world.
