André Romão: Fauna

Curated by Pedro Lapa, the exhibition features new commissioned works exclusively.  Developed into four chapters—one for each room, the exhibition revolves around concepts of survival and the conditions for inhabiting the world. In his practice, the artist focuses on the problematic interaction with cultural and historical macrostructures, the environment, and economics.

To investigate on such themes Romão uses a diversity of media, from poetry and sculpture to installations and video works. The artists references to Surrealism and the Baroque as well as to mythology and poetry.
