Albert Oehlen
A major exhibition by Albert Oehlen (b. 1954, Krefeld, Germany), one of the most significant artists working today. A key figure in contemporary art since the 1980s, he engages with the history of painting, pushing its essential components to bold new extremes.
The exhibition features an installation that marks the beginning of Oehlen’s process of interpreting the Rothko Chapel in Houston, Texas. It also includes four new paintings made specifically for the occasion. Alongside this central installation, a election of paintings from the last two decades is on view.
