Antony Gormley: Another Time for Margate / Folkestone

Antony Gormley produced “Another Time”, a series of 100 cast-iron figures that have been installed around the world from the River Thames in London to Kunisaki in Japan.

The one in Margate is positioned on the foreshore and it’s visible at low tide from the first-floor balcony and from the shoreline behind the Turner Contemporary. Through these iron-cast figures, the arts tried to express what is like to be “alive and alone in space and time”.
