Atelier E.B: Passer-by
The exhibition, occurring at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, is centred around the work of Atelier E. B., the fashion label born from the collaboration between the designer Beca Lipscombe and the artist Lucy McKenzie. The exhibition itinerary is divided into three different thematic focuses, which all bear as constant motif the figure of the mannequin. While the first space is transformed in a showroom for Atelier E. B.’s latest collection, the second displays historic material, photography and objects. The last room, instead, presents newly commissioned works by more than 30 contemporary artists, which span fashion, sculpture, painting, graphic and commercial design, photography, craft and film. The show tries to forecast, through this path, the future of retail display in the digital age.
