Begüm Yamanlar: Tidelands
Tidelands presents works by Begüm Yamanlar, a Turkey-based artist and academic working primarily with photography and video. Her practice explores transcorporeality, posthuman relations and material processes through superimposition, temporal layering and spatial entanglements. Investigating the relationships between bodies, matter and environments, Yamanlar examines how human and non-human elements shape one another. Her work considers large-scale geological and ecological transformations, exploring the shifting boundaries between the material and immaterial, and questioning human-centred perceptions of the natural world. Through composite photography and moving images, she develops layered representations of landscapes in which time, space and matter intersect.
