Danh Vo: Chicxulub

Danh Vo is the protagonist of a solo exhibition at the Bermondsey galleries of White Cube, to present a selection of new works. The exhibition path merges eclectic elements, from stained glass windows and religious statues to plants and packaging materials. In combining such objects, the artist subverts their meaning, elevating banal paper boxes to the status of religious icons in proximity to once precious and now mutilated antique religious statues.

“Chicxulub” brings together many relevant themes in Vos’ research, such as the seduction and violence of Catholicism, and the parallel between the export of Christianity and international brands.
