Episode 7: Olivia Sterling

Artist Olivia Sterling is the protagonist of the seventh installment of the Episodes series: for the occasion, she presentes a body of graphic paintings commissioned by the CCA. “Really Rough Scrubbing Brush” investigates the topic of colour-changing bodies through tannning or fake tan. These become a desired model of beauty that paradoxically confront with racial prejudices against darker skin tones. The paintings focus on the racist daily micro and micro-aggressions perpetuated in the UK, through an ironic and often absurd visual language.
