Ernst Wilhelm Nay at Almine Rech London

Almine Rech Gallery London, Broadbent House, Grosvenor Hill, London W1K 3JH, UK

Almine Rech presents the late works from the 1960s of Ernst Wilhelm Nay (1902–1968), one of the most well known postwar German artists of the twentieth century.
That period (the years after Nay’s participation at documenta III in 1964) reveals an artist who — with his bright colors and dynamic, two-dimensional forms that extend beyond the pictorial space — seems surprisingly far more rooted in the present than in the past.
Prepared in cooperation with the Ernst Wilhelm Nay Foundation, Cologne, and Aurel Scheibler, Berlin, the solo show marks the representation of Ernst Wilhelm Nay by the gallery.
