Eugenio Dittborn: Airmail Paintings

The exhibition includes both historical and new works by Eugenio Dittborn, whose research revolves around his usage of airmail. He has often sent his works to galleries in airmail envelopes, overcoming any restrictions of movements, national borders or political limitations. “Airmail Paintings” spans different media and transcends the barriers between the Global South and the western world or the lines traced by colonial histories of exploitation. Each piece documents different moments in Dittborn’s personal life and Chilean history.
