Figure/s: drawing after Bellmer

A collective exhibition of drawings exploring the motif of the body

Drawing Room, 1-27 Rodney Pl, London SE17 1PP, UK

Drawing Room hosts a collective drawings’ exhibition exploring the body as a site of oppression and liberation. “FIGURE/S: drawing after Bellmer” assumes as a starting point the work of Hans Bellmer, who explored the dehumanisation caused by fascism and racism and had a wide international influence on both younger and contemporary artists, from pop culture to French Surrealism and Japanese manga. On view also drawings by Huguette Caland, Richard Hamilton, Mathew Hale, Rebecca Jagoe, Aura Satz, Paul Chan, Neil Gall, Sharon Kivland, Jade Montserrat, Jean-Luc Moulène and many more.
