Gran Fury: Read My Lips

Read My Lips features works by AIDS activist art collective Gran Fury produced between 1987 and 1995. The show marks the thirtieth anniversary from the group formation and brings it to the light for the first time in UK, including a series of print works, billboard campaigns, public intervention works and guerrilla tactic protests originally staged by the artists across public spaces in New York.

The show intends to reflect upon the strategies available to artists and cultural institutions to act directly and protest, highlighting the contribution of this collective, whose interventions continue to mark a cornerstone of queer activism, socially engaged artistic practice and health campaigning.
