Hannah Perry: GUSH

GUSH features new works by the British artist Hannah Perry, Somerset House Studios resident, who presents large-scale sculpture, sound and film. The body of works presented deals with topics related to mental and emotional health in contemporary, technological society. For instance, the video work on display records common moments from everyday situations along with big life-changing events, dealing in particular with the artist’s personal experience of loss of a close friend who committed suicide. Other works address moments of violence, tenderness and intimacy through mechanised interaction or combine printed parts with photographies, car lacquer and painting.
