Hyundai Commission: Anicka Yi

For the 2021 Hyundai Commission, artist Anicka Yi has created her largest and most ambitious project to date for Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall. Her works explore the connections between art and science, challenging all the senses through unexpected and experimental materials. She draws inspiration from philosophical researches about emerging forms of life and intelligence, at the same time discussing current social issues related to migration, class and gender.
