John Giorno

The exhibition at Almine Rech Gallery London shows for the first time two works by the artist John Giorno, that he produced late in his career. The first is the series “Perfect Flowers” (2017), eighteen paintings reflecting the cycles of life and transcendence typical of Giorno’s late writings. He paints lines quoted from a poem on coloured canvases. The second is the “Stone Poem” series (2018), in which some of his earlier texts and phrases are etched into stone. John Giorno is renowned for his artistic research, merging poetry, visual arts and activism.
