John Squire: Disinformation

Artist John Squire presents a new body of works at Newport Street Gallery, London. The solo exhibition, titled “Disinformation”, features a new series of large-scale paintings, inspired by photographs taken by the artists or selected online.
The paintings are the result of Squire’s process of manipulation on the original images: at first, he edits the pictures with appropriate software, which create visual glitches or multiple overlapped layers.
Then, Squire translates the small-format digital images on big canvases, using oil painting.
