Kiki Smith: Woodland

Timothy Taylor, 15 Bolton Street

The exhibition Woodland presents pieces by the artist Kiki Smith. Her works are rich with allegories, confronting themes such as identity, mortality and women’s liberation represented metaphorically as imaginary creatures and nude human forms and often intertwined with the artist’s own life experiences and tragedies. Smith uses everyday materials to examine the dichotomy between the psychological and physiological power of the body, demonstrating a deep understanding of the body’s intimate functions.

The show exhibits large-scale tapestries produced using a special weaving process in collaboration with Magnolia Editions, alongside sculptures in bronze, aluminium and silver, and works on paper.
