“HanaHana 花華” is a virtual reality work by artist Mélodie Mousset, which recreates a surreal, post-apocalyptic universe. In this landscape, chains of women’s arms and hands of varying sizes and skin tone emerge from the nature; users themselves, while experiencing this scenery, can generate their own limbs. Mousset’s goal is to explore the relation between self and technology and the possibility of augmented-selves and bodies. To address these topics, the artist use a wide range of media, such as installation, performance, photography, sculpture, new media and virtual reality, often referencing elements from her personal biography. The exhibition at Zabludowicz Collection is part of the 360: VR Room series of exhibitions.
