Musquiqui Chihying: A Life of Navigation

A Life of Navigation brings together four works by Taiwanese artist Musquiqui Chihying at HENI Project Space, Hayward Gallery. Working across video, installation, photography and sculpture, Chihying combines humour and performativity to examine urban life, technological change and contemporary social structures. The exhibition pairs two earlier works, The Jog (2014) and The Toyota (2015), with two new video installations that explore artificial intelligence, gaming culture and the tensions between manual labour and automation. Through playful yet critical narratives, Chihying also questions the colonial attitudes underlying the pursuit of technological advancement and its impact on society.
