The group show includes works by the three internationally renown conceptual artists Pedro Cabrita Reis, Jimmie Durham and Cildo Meireles. Organised in collaboration with Galeria Luisa Strina, São Paulo, the exhibition brings together pieces by the three artists, all united by their focus on simple materials and everyday life items, associated in new and powerful ways.
Reis presents three new works, realised specifically for the show, which deal with philosophical and poetical discourses, using a variety of media, namely painting, photography, drawing, and sculptures. Durhams’s sculptures and assemblages mix organic and artificial found items, which interrogate the relationship between nature and industry, while Meireles’ works actively involve viewers’ perception and imagination.
