Rita Keegan: Somewhere Between There and Here

Rita Keegan‘s practice combines digital animation, textiles, painting, copy art, and new media in dialogue with feminist practices and the Black Arts Movement of the 1980s. On view, paintings and copy art collages – some of them never exhibited before – and a new multimedia installation revisiting her previous series “Cycles” (1992). That consisted of a collage of family portraits and historical images embedded into a mixed-media installation addressing issues related to the African diaspora through her family and personal history.
