Shahzia Sikander

The Pilar Corrias art gallery in Eastcastle Street hosts Shahzia Sikander‘s solo presentation, including paintings, drawings, animation and mosaic, some of them never exhibited before. On view, for example, the animated film “Reckoning” (2020), a new glass tesserae painting and a series of large-scale canvases. Sikander’s research revolves around the re-elaboration of pre-modern Central and South Asian manuscript practices, deconstructing archetypal narratives around femininity, race, memory and migration.
