Steve McQueen: Year 3

The ambitious project portrays each Year 3 classes of the country

Tate Britain, Millbank, London SW1P 4RG, UK

The exhibition features Steve McQueen‘s vast project of children’s portraits, the most ambitious of its kind ever undertaken in the UK. The artist invited every Year 3 class to have their portrait taken by a team of photographers, trained by him: the result is a photography of the future and the generations to come.

McQueen collected the pictures into a major large-scale installation, inviting visitors to reflect on our current identity and the possible people who will act the changes in the years to come. During the exhibition, the portrayed classes will visit it, while at its closing, each picture will return to its school.
