Taus Makhacheva: BaidÀ

BaidÀ is the exhibition dedicated to Taus Makhacheva‘s works, developed from the researches which the artist conducted while visiting the fishermen living in the Starii Terek village in Dagestan and working in the Caspian Sea, whose stories all expressed the fear of being lost at sea. Makhaceva’s pieces, then, become an investigation about the precarity of human life, in constant struggle against economic and natural forces. The result of these reflections is “BaidÀ” (2017), a video/performance commissioned by the 57th Venice Biennale.
