Thabiso Sekgala: Here Is Elsewhere

This is the first ree solo exhibition in the UK by South African artist Thabiso Sekgala (b. 1981, Johannesburg, South Africa; d. 2014, Johannesburg, South Africa). The exhibition brings together 50 photographs from six different series taken between 2009 and 2014 in South Africa, Jordan and Germany.

These images feature portraits, street scenes and elegiac depictions of public and domestic space and offer personal narratives about life in contemporary Africa, exploring the country’s political or economic conditions.
