The Non Community

Selected works by both Spanish and foreign artists develop in this exhibition an investigation focused on loneliness, offering original lectures about it under different point of view. “The NON Community” is organised in the form of an essay which examines the idea of solitude as a consequence of the current status quo, characterised by an increasing feeling of non-belonging. The pieces on view question the idea of community, challenged by the late capitalist society which sap any social connection.

The exhibition builds a complete panorama of solitude, ranging from more heartrending perspective to the most optimistic views, especially in the works specially commissioned for the occasion. Artists unfold multiple settings such as the consequences of late capitalism in the form of solitudes or the ones caused by the development of technology.
