Alan Glass: Sorprendente hallazgo
The Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes presents Alan Glass: “Sorprendente hallazgo”, a meticulous review of over five decades of artistic production by Alan Glass. As one of the last foreign artists associated with the Surrealist movement who chose Mexico as their home, Glass found an inexhaustible source of material and spiritual inspiration in local culture.
Mexican material culture profoundly influenced his work, particularly in the creation of his surrealist objects made from found elements. In his compositions, Glass assembled and encapsulated everyday objects—such as buttons, human hair, insects, and matches—transforming them into pieces where the fragmented and the impossible coexist in surprising ways, elevating the ordinary into the extraordinary.
