Andrew Birk: Callejero

Andrew Birk’s body of work is a response to his naturalist approach to art. Through continuous urban research, city elements that appear in the streets are the object of Birk’s attention; the physical embodiment of emerging culture.

Callejero is what comes of the artist’s personal experience while identifying a system of symbols organically formed by his surroundings, playing with the notion of when art is. Under this context, Birk’s works group layers of information taken from his city walkthroughs, bringing in his paintings multiple theories of interpretation based on each spectators experience.
