“Rise” is the title of the exhibition by Bárbara Wagner and Benjamin de Burca at Jumex, Mexico City as well as the title of theartist’s short film that follows a series poets and musicians – a group comprised mainly of young people, first and second-generation Canadians of African and Caribbean descent. Through this work, the artists question the notion of “giving voice” to minorities and marginalized communities.
