Alejandra Topete Gallery presents “Entre Hilos y Relatos/Between Threads and Stories”, showcasing the work of two textile artists, Claribel Calderius and Jason Kriegler.

Claribel’s tapestries are rich in colour, reflecting a journey through her Cuban heritage. Through the tradition of Afro-Cuban parables—stories full of symbolism traditionally not used by women—she has developed her own alphabet of symbols. Jason’s work focuses on extracting old ideas into contemporary forms. Through his techniques, every piece is meticulously crafted by hand, with materials such as thread, cardboard, wood, and paper, all carefully sown or applied by him.
