OMR and LagoAlgo announce “Capítulo VII: Shifting Grounds”, a group exhibition that explores cycles of displacement, both visible and invisible. The exhibition highlights themes such as human impact on the environment, migration, identity, economic structures, and the actions or inactions that contribute to their recurrence.
The exhibition examines concepts ranging from colonialist views of nature disguised as beauty to questions about what defines the identity of a region, the worsening climate crises, humanity’s wilful ignorance of self-imposed catastrophes, and the passage of time as a warning. Through their artistic practices, these thinkers offer visitors an opportunity to reflect on some of the most pressing issues of today. In this context, art serves as a catalyst for meaningful social change through collective action while challenging individuals to consider their own impact on the environment.
