Cynthia Gutiérrez

Cynthia Gutierrez’s (Guadalajara, 1978) research and artistic practice revolves around the connection between past and present: in her works, the artist investigate the topic of the blurred line which divides memory from oblivion, the permanent from the transient. Assuming this contradictory concepts as starting points, Gutiérrez weaves new narrations which fluctuate between estrangement and reality, past and present, tragedy and comedy, truth and deception.
