Detanico Lain: Cascada de Silencio

Proyecto Paralelo Gallery presents “Cascada de Silencio (Waterfall of Silence)”, a solo show of Detanico Lain: this couple of Brazilian artists, Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain, which currently live and work between France and Brazil, reinvents writing by analysing the ways in which meaning is forevermdisplaced and it is presented through installations, texts, images, videos and drawings, creating new and surprising typefaces in which diverse forms and objects substitute traditional Latin characters.

For Proyecto Paralelo the artists have produced a group of new works in which all of these processes are evident, especially in a series like Quanta cor, which is shown for the first time, or in the piece inspired by a poem written by Octavio Paz and translated into their cascada (waterfall) typeface.
