Fernando Ortega: Nota rosa / Pink note
“Nota rosa/ Pink Note” is a project by Fernando Ortega (Mexico City, 1971) that merges memory with the fixation of a color, magnifying the experienced event, either as the result of a suggested scenario, or as the registry of something that happened elsewhere in another time.
The three art works presented in “Pink Note” are situated precisely at the moment when something – a mosquito, a balloon or a person – sneaks in a place where it has not been invited. As in previous projects, Ortega emphasizes moments of apparent fragility in the development of phenomenological experiments, as potential announcers of a poetic language in the interstice of visible and invisible.
Fernando Ortega was born in Mexico in 1971, where he currently lives and works. He has had solo exhibitions in several art institutions such as Bonner Kunstverein, Germany, the Ludwig Foundation, La Habana, Cuba and Centro de la Imagen, México City. He has also exhibited in group exhibitions internationally including Malmö konstmuseum, Malmö, Istanbul Modern, Turkey, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Palais de Tokyo, Paris.
