Ficción y tiempo
“Ficción y tiempo” is an exhibition exploring the difficulties of the present, which have caused disenchantment for the future and have displaced the desire for utopias towards the construction of idealised pasts. The project proposes fiction and the impulse to invent possibilities in time, as an act to confront uncertainty. This curatorial exercise is an effort to open the reflection towards the particularities of our context through four thematic axes that start from the questions: what future can we imagine today? Where and how is memory stored? How will the present be seen when it is past? and is the story really fixed and immovable? The work of 27 contemporary artists of different generations is presented, who live in Mexico or work with its context, of which five are pieces commissioned specifically for the project. The exhibition brings together drawing, photography, sculpture, video, painting and installation.
