Francisco Larios: Mar Bermejo

Francisco Larios’ show features paintings, photographs and sculptures, for the most part red like the sunset and silver like the moon. As a matter of fact, the title of the show refers to the Gulf of California originally known as Red Sea (mar bermejo) for its deep red sunsets, while the silver toned pieces allude to the moon, planet responsible for the tide and the behavior of the waters.
Larios was born in Guaymas, Sonora, a port close to Mar Bermejo, so the theme of the show has a biographical root: the sea acts as a starting point of his artistic production.
