As if they were trompe l’oeil, Mauro Piva’s works reproduce the behind the scenes preparations of historic painters, while his reproductions vary between observations and hypothesis of what is behind the construction of painting as a media, Piva’s notes become rather a question for the way of being of painting and its relation with art history.
