Melquiades Herrera: Reportaje Plástico de un Teorema Cultural

“Melquiades Herrera: Reportaje Plástico de un Teorema Cultural” presents six curatorial nuclei that reactivate, from the recreational game plan concept developed by Herrera, a series of boards – composed by documentation, audiovisual material and objects – around problems and constant themes in their production: the relationship with sciences (optics, geometry and mathematics), the critical representation of nationalism from the metropolitan context, a singular reading by Marcel Duchamp and surrealism, an alternative of artistic education and its theories about objects. The six boards are presented as a repertoire of tricks kept in the Samsonite portfolio that Herrera used to carry, and as a materialist reading of his work at the time of the implementation of the FTA, with its effects on the working class and the traveling economy.
