Niérika: Lilly Collection
The exhibition is made up by a selection from John and Colette Lilly Collection, made up by photography, video, animation and yarn tables from the cultures: Mazateca and Wirrárika (Hichol).
With the curatorial work by Anahí Luna, Allegra Cordero and Arden Decker, Centro de la Imagen presents a finding, part of the Lilly Collection is made up by veritable treasures, most of them previously unknown, which offer an extraordinary point of view on the original cultures of Mexico.
The exhibition is developed from the concept of Niérika, which in the Wirrárika language refers to the gift of seeing, to the instruments for vision of the shamans, the facial painting in this culture, as well as to the material quality of image and aesthetic quality of artworks.
